Black Face Label

Black Face Label (BLF) is a record company formed in Newark, NJ, 1971 by Ronnie Tylor primarily to release his own single, Revealing the leeches, under the name Belinda and the Mooning Gnomes.
BLF made a name for itself as the label that was willing to sign pre-punk electro artists like Stonerockets, T.R.O.W, Plastic Plastic, Jasper Johns and Violent Men.
Once electronic music hit the U.S. charts from 1981 onwards, BLF signed artists like The Lesbians and No Crises that utilised new technology which would eventually redefine the sound of the dancefloor in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
BLF redefined itself again to encompass alternative rock with bands such as Your Perfect Morning on their Riot imprint. The label also in 1992 launched a subsidiary called White Face Label, mainly as a distribution channel for experimental electronic music.
