Jeanne Deville (1947 - 1985)

Jeanne Deville's White butterfly was one of the most successful one-shots of the mid-'60s folk-rock boom, reaching the Top Five in late 1969.
She never came close to matching that early triumph, although other acts brought her songs to a wider audience with their covers of Deville compositions like Strapping the excitement (Plastic Plastic), Revelation (No Crises), and The tiny (Stonerockets guitarist Robert Lee Castleberry).
Little was a fine, versatile, saucy singer whose work deserves more attention.
Jeanne Deville was found dead in a bathtub in her home in Montpellier, France, 1985.
