Lisa McDermont (1952 - 1979)

Lisa McDermont was a singer with a gruff voice and a no-nonsense approach. The New York-based vocalist sang in musicals with her father in summer stock when she was only six.

During 1976 she also played drums with Jennie Wayne And The Wooden Dolls.
McDermont has since attained a cult following and gradually become better-known to the larger rock public.
She made her solo debut with several albums for the tiny Yellow label during 1975-78.
McDermont shot herself in november 1979 after a dispute with her girlfriend Jennie Wayne.
