Dieter Feierabend (b. 1937)

American writer born in Berlin, Germany.
Since the 1972 debut The Wrong Person´s Guide to National Treachery, Feierabend has written well over 20 novels and several collections of short stories. As "The Paul Auster of Newark" most of his books are about street life and people around Central Avenue in Newark.
Feierabends novel Incoming (1981) is commonly regarded as a pre-work for Matthew Barrington´s Fruit Jars (1984).
Both novels are close studies of Newark suburb life among immigrants from eastern Europe.
In the late seventies Feierabend started to work as a "window observer" for the White Session of the Black & White Crew .
