Tormented Youth

Rudi Diefendorf, from Pink Closing.- electronics / vocals
Tommy Pouder - guitar

One of the electropunk´s longest running bands, the Tormented Youth emerged from the Newark scene in 1973 and quickly found themselves sharing the stage with such notable acts as Jasper Johns. Their initial releases were minor hits in USA, and the band was able to weather frequent lineup changes, which started with guitarist Tommy Pouder´s exit in 1975, until 1977 when the band called it quits. But, as with most Newark acts, reformation was in the cards.
The original lineup came back together in 1982 and released the LPs Back from Prospect Street.
In 1973 Tormented Youth played two shows at The Joint in Newark, NJ.
